Finding The Right Elliptical Replacement Parts
What do you do? Do you replace the old friend and shell out all that extra money? Do you call the company and see if they have an authorized repair person near your area and pay the rather large repair bills? Maybe you are pretty handy and you decide to try to repair the machine yourself.
Elliptical Replacement Parts – Are They Easy To Obtain?
Many elliptical trainer companies if you call their customer service numbers will ship replacement parts to you for the cost of the part and a nominal shipping fee. Some of the most common part orders are for replacement wheels and rollers. Many elliptical trainers have an internal belt that after years of use may need replacing so if something else breaks you might as well order a new belt as the additional cost is minimal and it likely needs replaced anyways.
Where Else Can You Find Elliptical Replacement Parts For Your Elliptical Trainer?
Other than direct from the manufacturer you can see if you can find a distributor that sells generic replacement parts. Lately I have been unable to find such a source, often if you do they only usually carry repair parts for some of the most common elliptical trainers. If you have a less popular brand elliptical machine you may be out of luck.
Another good source for elliptical machine replacement parts is Ebay. I have found a large supply of used elliptical parts on Ebay and have been very happy with the quality. These parts often come from elliptical trainers that are beyond repair and the owner has replaced the damaged unit with a new one. The parts are then stripped off and sold individually online.
Finally, another good source is looking for a used machine at local garage and estate sales. If you can pickup the same model as yours you can strip off the parts you need and save the remaining parts for the future. You may also want to check on Craig's List for your local area.
