Replacing Elliptical Belt – DIY Info

If the belt has broke on your elliptical trainer the first step I would take is to find your owners manual. This should have a parts list that will give you the part number and description of the part you need. Sometimes elliptical replacement parts can be hard to find. I would recommend looking inside your manual to see if they give a parts hotline number. You can call this number and more than likely order the part over the phone.

If you do not have a number for the company, you can try searching online. Some companies do not sell replacement parts directly to the consumer, you have to go through a fitness equipment repair shop. Repair shops are few and far between, so if you do not live in a large city you may have to go outside your local area to find one.

Another option is searching online. If you search for elliptical repair parts you should be able to find a decent selection for most brand elliptical trainers.

Some really low end ellipticals simply do not have any replacement parts, that is part of the reason you should buy a slightly higher end elliptical trainer.

The costs of these repair parts can be fairly significant because the companies know there are limited places to obtain them.

Once you track down the belt for your elliptical trainer you need to order it and have it shipped to you. In most cases if time is limited you can have it overnighted.

Once your receive the belt take the side foot platform off and then the side panel. Remove the old belt and compare it with the new one to make sure it is similar. The old one might be slightly large as they wear out and stretch over time.

Gently place the new belt on the spindle and attach the other side to a pulley looking part.  It may take a little struggle because it will fit really tight.  Once it is on replace the side panel and foot platform.

Remember to always check for specific related to your brand elliptical trainer, each one is slightly different.
